Grand Rapids, Mich. – Mayan Buzz Café will open a coffee shop inside Bridge Street Market, the new neighborhood grocery store opening later this year on the corner of Bridge Street and Seward Ave. on Grand Rapids’ west side.

It’s the first of several local business partnerships the food-focused market will be announcing in the next few months, Bridge Street Market Store Manager Ken Bair said.

“We are excited to join this West Side neighborhood, and share Bridge Street Market’s unique offerings with those who live, work and play in the area,” Bair said. “This community is rich in heritage and authenticity, and we are excited to fold local businesses like Mayan Buzz into the fabric of what Bridge Street Market has to offer its customers.”

Mayan Buzz Café is a Central American-themed coffee house that opened in 2013 in downtown Grand Rapids’ Heartside neighborhood. Specializing in premium coffees, teas and unique signature drinks, talented and friendly baristas infuse warmth and passion into a safe, welcoming, neighborly atmosphere.

In addition to the small coffee shop it will operate near the front entrance of Bridge Street Market, customers will also be able to purchase Mayan Buzz’s packaged fresh whole bean and ground coffee.

“Passion, purpose, resilience. The West Side possesses all of these, and the Bridge Street Market is a testament to it all. Being a partner in this adventure is a dream come true for us at Mayan Buzz Café,” General Manager Marco Bulnes said.

Bridge Street Market is the first-of-its-kind in the region that will focus on bringing fresh products and value to a variety of customers. The store’s unique shopping experience will offer a full assortment of fresh food; local, artisan groceries; and Meijer and national brand products at low prices.

Bridge Street Market will anchor a mixed-use development, spanning a city block, which features apartments, a parking deck, and an office and retail building.
