Meijer has plans to open a smaller urban-format store in downtown Grand Rapids, Mich., under a different moniker: Bridge Street Market. The name is a nod to its neighborhood location and unique format, the first of its kind in the region and a model intended to deliver a convenient, fresh neighborhood grocery options for locals. The store, intended to serve as a model for “future neighborhood-friendly development in the area,” will focus on accessible fresh produce and full grocery offerings for the community.
