Meijer Inc. will open its first locations in the Upper Peninsula and remodel six stores throughout Michigan as part of a $375 million investment across its six-state market, the retail chain announced Thursday. Supercenters, complete with gas stations and convenience stores, are set to open this spring in Escanaba and Sault Ste. Marie, bringing as many as 300 full- and part-time jobs to each location. There are also plans for a location in Marquette by next year.
