Meijer is a privately-owned and family-operated company that began in 1934 during the Great Depression when Hendrik Meijer, and his 14-year-old son, Fred, fulfilled a need in the community. Together, they evolved the small grocery store into a one-stop shopping experience for customers. Today, Hank Meijer leads the company as Executive Chairman, along with a handful of experienced business leaders, including Vice Chairman Mark Murray and President & CEO Rick Keyes.
In addition to the leadership team, Meijer employs 70,000 team members in six states. Among those team members include a few specialty teams that work hard every day to make the customer experience even better.
