The trucks and drivers in “Run on Less Regional,” a freight efficiency demonstration conducted by the North American Council for Freight Efficiency (NACFE), hit an average 8.3 miles per gallon for the recent three-week event, representing a significant improvement over the national average of 6.0 MPG.

When Leah Nicodemus and her daughter, Danielle, walked into Meijer on Grape Road in Mishawaka, the plan was to get a few household and grocery items. But then they got to the Halloween section of the store and started picking out Star Wars costumes for her sons ages 7 and 4.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
The United States Department of Justice's Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) said on its website, "The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications."

Meijer is reminding customers that this coming weekend is the perfect time to clear out medicine cabinets and drawers of unused and expired medications. As part of National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, Oct. 26, the Midwest retailer expects its pharmacies to help properly dispose of more than 8,000 pounds of forgotten, potentially-harmful medications.

Danielle Brunk, the Meijer Store Director in Port Huron, joined Jason Carr to talk about the large selection of pet costumes Meijer offers. Anna Chrisman from the Michigan Humane Society, brought in three furry models, Dusty, Stella and Herby, for a Halloween fashion show. Dressed as a cowboy, panda, and taco, these furry friends are ready for October 31st!
