Cathy Cooper, director of community and giving for Meijer, is the inaugural recipient of the Fred Meijer Award, an honor named after the retailer's founder.

This morning was a particularly early morning for me and I had to be up til about 2 a.m., so I decided to get some steps in and walk around Meijer last night. While walking around i made my way over to the Halloween section, and let me tell you, if you haven't started decorating for Halloween:1. What's wrong with you? 2. You really should be checking out the Meijer on Gull Rd. They have tons of stuff out on sale right now. On top of all the sick combo candy bags, they have a bunch of unique decorating items.

Zoo Goes Boo presented by Meijer kicks off this weekend at the John Ball Zoo! This exciting event is taking place both this weekend, October 18th – 20th, and next weekend, October 25th – 27th, from 10am – 4pm! Kids can enjoy trick-or-treating, special entertainments, cool decorations, and seeing awesome animals. Kids are encouraged to dress up!

Quality is no accident at Meijer, and that's the very concept highlighted in commercials and billboards all across the Midwest.

The clinic is the second to be located within a Meijer. Spectrum Health’s first in-store clinic opened last year at the Meijer in Hudsonville.

On Sept. 30, Meijer donated $1,000 in gift cards for Ivy Tech Community College Warsaw’s Basics Bank, an emergency food and supply pantry that opened in January.

Meijer has been named a 2019 SmartWay Excellence Award winner by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The grocer was recognized in two categories — as a shipper and a carrier — for the second year in a row. 

Midwest retailer Meijer is expanding its pet departments for an even larger assortment of everyday essentials like food, grooming supplies and increasingly popular Halloween costumes.
