Chevel Shepherd will headline this year’s Grand Taste Garden at the Meijer LPGA Classic next month at Blythefield Country Club in Belmont.

In addition to the $1.1 million that last year's Meijer LPGA Classic raised for regional food pantries, the 2018 tournament champ donated a third of her winnings to the cause. So Yeon Ryu donated $100,000, saying she was moved by the mission and that encouraged her to play harder.

Grocery chain Meijer is now offering its technology-driven checkout system at all of its Wisconsin stores.

Between working, cooking, cleaning, and taking care of the kids, moms have a lot on their plate. With Mother’s Day just over a week away, local Meijer stores wanted to do something special to help mom out.

Doctors and pharmacists are encouraging customers to rid their homes of leftover and expired medication today, which is designated National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

Grand Rapids, Michigan-based Meijer opened its 11th Wisconsin store today in Sheboygan at 924 N. Taylor Drive. The new 155,00-square-foot store is one of the five new Meijer supercenter stores to open in the Midwest this year.

Two months after launching a Consumer Drug Take-Back Program in each of its 241 supercenters across the Midwest, Meijer announced today that it has helped dispose of more than four tons of unwanted and potentially hazardous medications. “The response since installing the kiosks in all of our pharmacies is a strong indication that our customers appreciate having a safe and easy way to properly dispose of unused, unwanted or expired medications,” said Jason Beauch, Vice President of Meijer Pharmacy. “If you live near any Meijer store in the Midwest, then you have easy access to this new service.”

ROSSFORD, Ohio — National Drug take back day is Saturday, April 27, 2019. But if you can't make it to one of the drop off locations, Meijer is able to take your unwanted medications year round. A special drop-off kiosk has been set up near the pharmacy at each Meijer location.

One program with Meijer donated additional money to food pantries in response to a record breaking year of donations. ABC 10’s, Caylee Kirby got to learn about the program and what it is doing to help the Marquette community.

The Salvation Army and St. Vincent de Paul each received $5,000 from Meijer in Marquette Township on Tuesday. The donations come from Meijer’s “Simply Give Program,” which aims to fight hunger in local communities. "Being a food company, it's very important for us and it's very important for the community to support those food pantries. We run a Simply Give Program throughout the year,” said Meijer Store Director, John Spaulding.
