    The Columbus Meijer located on Hamilton Road previously had a liquor license to sell beer, wine, and low-proof liquor. Now, the store says they are selling high-proof liquor. There are 477 Contract Liquor Agencies in Ohio that can sell high-proof spirits, and 11 more are scheduled to open in the coming months. The City of Columbus currently has only 32 Contract Liquor Agencies.

The staff raised the money through raffles and donations. Governor Brian Calley, Greater Lansing Food Bank, and the Ingham County Health Department took part the challenge by donating 100 gallons of milk and $2500 to the food bank. The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based supercenter chain said its assortment of craft beer and wine is now available from 40 Ohio stores through the Meijer Home Delivery service, which uses Shipt for order fulfillment and delivery.

    Meijer will be offering free junior deer hunting licenses at all Michigan stores from Sept. 14-15. The Walker-based retailer says the deal is valid for a single junior deer hunting license, which carries a $20 value, or a mentored youth hunting license.
