A Vigo County food pantry is receiving $75,200 from the Terre Haute Meijer store because of generosity of holiday shoppers at the end of 2017. New Life Fellowship Compassion Ministries Food Pantry will receive $75,200 in gift cards to purchase food to stock pantry shelves and feed the hungry.

Meijer is seeking candidates in all departments for its new store in Grand Chute, which is expected to open late spring/early summer. The 300 positions available include clerks and cake decorators to customer service, cashiers, receiving and meat cutters. Starting pay will be based on experience level and specific skills.

A record year in 2017 for the Meijer Simply Give program - it donated more than 84 million meals to food pantries, helping families struggling with hunger all across the Midwest.

Meijer has announced the beginning of the hiring process at its news U.P. store. The retailer, based in Grand Rapids, operates 235 supercenters and grocery stores throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Wisconsin. Meijer is currently seeking candidates in all departments for the new store in Marquette which is expected to open late spring/early summer.
