    When kids interact with a police officer, it may not always be for a good reason, which is why the Bowling Green Fraternal Order of Police makes it a point every year to reach out to them in a positive way. For the 15th year in a row, FOP hosted its "Shop with a Cop" event (July 29) that provides local kids and teachers the opportunity to pick out back-to-school supplies at Meijer, free of charge.

    Area Meijer shoppers today can skip the line with a new scan-as-you-go tool launching in stores. Shoppers who download the Meijer Mobile App can scan and bag their items as they shop, which will add each item to a running total that can be viewed throughout the shopping trip.

During Meijer’s spring Simply Give campaign, customers across the Midwest donated more than $2.5 million to local food pantries. Since 2008, customers have donated more than $50 million.
