GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Meijer Pharmacy Operations Director Shawn Wilt was recently named President of the Ohio Board of Pharmacy, a nine-member board that is responsible for administering and enforcing laws governing the practice of pharmacy and the legal distribution of drugs in Ohio.

“Shawn is extremely deserving of this appointment to serve both the citizens and the state of Ohio in this capacity,” said Jason Beauch, Vice President of Pharmacy at Meijer. “He will lead by example with integrity and compassion for the citizens of Ohio.”

Wilt first joined Meijer in 2014 as a Pharmacy District Manager. He was promoted in January 2018 to his current role, where he leads a team of district managers and is responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal and state laws, regulations and rules while advancing the practice of pharmacy. Wilt was appointed to the Ohio Board of Pharmacy in 2015 by Gov. John R Kasich. He was recently named the Board President for the state fiscal year 2020.

In this role, Wilt’s responsibilities include working with board staff on setting meeting agendas and overseeing meetings and hearings.
